With each of these about pages I tried to make the costume intertextual references more explicit by posing the artist as my band members favourite artist. I also made a reference to their favourite movie to increase the amount of intertextuality and tried to link the movie to their interests/personality. I linked the mental health issue that they had to a narrative in the video to create the illusion of the artist presenting their values and ideologies in the video. This also subtly increases the digitally convergent nature of the two products.
Milly's outfit is inspired by Declan McKenna so decided to make that more explicit here. The film she likes is a recent one and is one my younger target audience will recognise. She references how her pet dog helped her with her anxiety which links to the narrative about the boy taking his god out on a walk.
Purnoor's outfit is based off Paramore so again made that more explicit. The movie she likes is a rom-com and reflects the bubbly persona I tried to construct and that is also reflected in the music video. Her mental health problem is separation anxiety, deriving from the Covid Pandemic which my younger target audience will have personally lived through and remember well. This links to the narrative about a lesbian couple meeting up for a date.
Evan's outfit is inspired by Green Day so once more made that explicit here. I decided to link his love of guitar playing to green day and to his favourite film, which presents the theme of family. Which helped him through his mental health issue which is reflected in the narrative about a housewife being cheered up by her two children.
